Geachte heer Nijpels, Ik verwijs naar mijn brief JAARDONNATIE 1998 van 17 oktober jongstleden. Van uw directeur Siegfried Woldhek ontving ik wederom een acceptgirokaart in verband met de jaardonnatie 1998. Graag zou ik als oprichter van de Stichting Cervantes Benelux hieraan ruimhartig een bijdrage door de stichting laten leveren. Met name zodra dit bedrag kan worden aangewend voor een project in een Spaanstalig land, zodat daarmee niet uitsluitend de dieren daarmee zullen zijn gediend, maar ook de mensen die daarvoor verantwoordelijkheid dragen. In dit verband kan ik u melden dat de stichting nog een potentieel bedrag tegoed heeft van de Staat der Nederlanden. De problematiek dienaangaande wordt op dit moment in de Tweede Kamer der Staten Generaal besproken. In mijn visie is het lopende debat mede een uitvloeisel van de brief die ik op 8 februari vorig jaar heb gezonden aan de Hoofdofficier van Justitie te Amsterdam VONNIS. De dagafschriften van de stichting zijn inmiddels weer terecht. Ik heb echter nog geen reactie op deze brief ontvangen. Ik ga ervan uit dat de Minister van Justitie dienaangaande haar verantwoordelijkheid neemt. Daar heb ik thans het volledige vertrouwen in. Tijdens onze korte ontmoeting enige tijd geleden op Hoog Catharijne alhier heb ik begrepen dat een gezamenlijke reis naar Zuid-Afrika nog niet tot de mogelijkheden behoort omdat u daar enige tijd geleden al bent geweest. Ik had op dat moment voor een reis naar Zuid-Afrika gekozen om daar in contact te komen met Earl Charles Spencer, de broer van Lady Diana, die ik in april vorig jaar in het Verenigd Koninkrijk heb gemachtigd namens het Instituto Cervantes England and Wales - waar ik de formele eigenaar van ben - alle handelingen te verrichten die de Britse wetgeving toestaat. Tevens heb ik Lady Di daaraan voorafgaand voorgesteld om de Limited Company om te zetten in een Holding met werkmaatschappijen als Nederlands-Brits familiebedrijf Van der Heyden/Spencer en heb Haar het voorstel doen toekomen om op 28 september vorig jaar op Paleis Het Loo in het huwelijk te treden. Daartoe had ik alle organisatorische stappen reeds genomen. Ik heb in Engeland de toezegging gekregen dat ik daar medio september officieel bericht over zou ontvangen. Ten gevolge van het tragische ongeval in Parijs hebben deze plannen echter geen doorgang kunnen vinden. Inmiddels heb ik mijn correspondentie met Lady Di op eerste kerstdag op Althorp House overgedragen.

Graaf Charles Spencer is thans derhalve volledig op de hoogte en ik verwacht dat de tot European Cervantes Foundation om te bouwen Stichting Cervantes Benelux in de nabije toekomst ook op steun van het Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund' zal kunnen rekenen. Ik heb het Fund inmiddels uitgenodigd in het bestuur van de European Cervantes Foundation zitting te nemen. Het in mijn vorige brief vermelde aanbod om eveneens van deze stichting als bestuurder deel uit te maken handhaaf ik hiermede. De foundation zal immers ten doel hebben ontwikkelingsprojecten ten behoeve van Spaanstalige landen te bevorderen. Het Wereld Natuur Fonds kan daaraan een belangrijke bijdrage leveren.

Today I received a little statue of an angel carrying a red candle and a so called mistery present representing a peacock caring for three mushrooms from which two are broken down. My intuition tells me that this present must have a deep significance. It makes me think of a dear Lady and the broken hearts of two children who have my deepest concern. I think a lot of them. I can inform that the continuity of British Monarchy has my Supreme Concern as a member of the oldest noble family of this continent that produced every Royal House in Our Continent. I am still prepared to marry the mother of Prince William. I have no problem with Her temporary relationship with Mr Al Fayed in order to raise a financial participation in the Business Plan Instituto Cervantes Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, England and Wales.

A historical day. Welcome home again. It means to you a year of freedom. To me a year of new inspiration. A year of a new relationship with Britain. A new starting point. A new process. Forgetting Spain and Spanish for a while and concentrating on England and English. I look back with a great sense of satisfaction. I have learned to know you in a year. First by bying two books of Andrew Morton. Then newspapers in which I followed you and learned to know your world. As you stepped out of the royal household, I got into, although out of a humble atmosphere. You have been my inspiration to change. You inspired me to celebrate Christmas in the cradle of our royal family. You inspired me to found a new company in Britain with a world wide known name. You inspired me to invest all my money in a new relationship. You were - and still are - my invisible manager, the new partner on the other side of the sea. I learned a lot during the last year. First of all I learned to improve my English. I got new ideas, new thoughts and noticed that they are the same as yours. I even adapted your pronunciation after having seen and heard the video tape of your visit to Angola. I consider you as my spiritual sister or better: spiritual partner. You inspired me to come to England in April with a painting under my arms, representing a new organization. If it will become a family company. That will be your choice.
