Ik ben inderdaad zeer enthousiast over dat boek. U stelt in uw brief echter

"De opmerking op de eerste pagina van uw brief baart ons zorgen: 'Op de eerste plaats heb ik mij de volgende fragmenten uit jouw boek eigengemaakt:'. Voor de goede orde: op het werk van dhr. Ottenhoff, uitgegeven door Uitgeverij Bosch & Keuning rust copyright. Dat will zeggen dat het wettelijk verboden is zonder toestemming van de rechthebbende de tekst van het boek over te nemen, of te gebruiken in eigen uitgaven".

Ik kan u hierbij laten weten dat u en de heer Ottenhoff zich geen enkele zorg hoeven te maken. Met de term 'eigengemaakt' bedoel ik te zeggen dat ik die passages mijn geestelijk eigendom heb gemaakt als lezer. Uiteraard zal ik nooit en te nimmer inbreuk maken op iemands copyright. Ik zal echter niet nalaten goede collega's op het boek te wijzen. Uiteraard in het belang van de heer Ottenhoff zélf. Wij zijn immers veel te goede collega's en ik heb er geen enkel belang bij de directeur te schaden van het bedrijf dat ik zelf heb opgericht. Daar kunt u de oprichtingsstatuten op natrekken. Het door ons gezamenlijk ontwikkelde bedrijfsmodel vormt thans de basis van het Business Plan Instituto Cervantes Nederland, België, Luxemburg, Engeland en Wales. Dit plan is erop gericht Nederlands- en Engelstaligen met kennis van het Spaans aan het werk te helpen. In die zin zijn de door de heer Ottenhoff geformuleerde ideeën zeer bruikbaar. Ik heb de heer Ottenhoff inmiddels al aangeboden de afdeling Benelux van dit bedrijf te gaan runnen aangezien mijn aandacht te veel wordt opgeëist door enkele zaken in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Ik heb de heer Ottenhoff inmiddels ook een landgoed in Parijs in het vooruitzicht gesteld. Daar is wel enige zelfwerkzaamheid voor vereist. Maar dat is de heer Ottenhoff wel toevertrouwd. Van de andere kant kunt u mij wellicht ter wille zijn met de publikatie van mijn Letters to Diana, Princess of Wales In het kader van het thema REGEREN IS VOORUITZIEN komt de heer Ottenhoff hierin onder het pseudoniem 'Yellow Peter' voor als toekomstige Minister van Buitenlandse Zaken. Daarbij wil ik onze carrièremaker wel een handje helpen. Iedereen is graag eens aan verandering toe. Zeker na elf jaar op dezelfde plaats als boegbeeld te hebben dienst gedaan van een bedrijf dat naar mijn inzichten beter een naam kan dragen met een wereldwijde bekendheid. Bijgevoegd vindt u het Certificate of Incorporation van mijn bedrijf in het Verenigd Koninkrijk met enkele passages uit mijn Letters. Ik ga ervan uit dat de erven Spencer geen bezwaar hebben tegen publikatie van dit levenswerk. Ik heb een van de eerste exemplaren namelijk persoonlijk op Kensington Palace overgedragen alsmede op Buckingham Palace. Mocht u belangstelling hebben, dan verzoek ik u contact met mij op te nemen. Today I received a little statue of an angel carrying a red candle and a so called mistery present representing a peacock caring for three mushrooms from which two are broken down. My intuition tells me that this present must have a deep significance. It makes me think of a dear Lady and the broken hearts of two children who have my deepest concern. I think a lot of them. I can inform that the continuity of British Monarchy has my Supreme Concern as a member of the oldest noble family of this continent that produced every Royal House in Our Continent. A historical day. Welcome home again. It means to you a year of freedom. To me a year of new inspiration. A year of a new relationship with Britain. A new starting point. A new process. Forgetting Spain and Spanish for a while and concentrating on England and English. I look back with a great sense of satisfaction. I have learned to know you in a year. First by bying two books of Andrew Morton. Then newspapers in which I followed you and learned to know your world. As you stepped out of the royal household, I got into, although out of a humble atmosphere. You have been my inspiration to change. You inspired me to celebrate Christmas in the cradle of our royal family. You inspired me to found a new company in Britain with a world wide known name. You inspired me to invest all my money in a new relationship. You were - and still are - my invisible manager, the new partner on the other side of the sea. I learned a lot during the last year. First of all I learned to improve my English. I got new ideas, new thoughts and noticed that they are the same as yours.
